A core ingredient that can ‘intensify’ your workout

Hello everyone,

A shout out to all those who have gotten themselves subscribed on my website, thank you all for your support. Stay tuned for some great updates 🙂

With my 4 years of consistent training at the gym, I have realized that there is one key component that can tremendously help an individual in strengthening his/her workout for the day (even when there is no desire to begin).

I am sure we all have had days where we are super charged to go and kill it at the gym and there are days where we are not at all motivated. However, some of us still push ourselves and hit the gym on days where we are not feeling the drive.

The end result: Not getting much physical activity done and no intensity produced.

What’s the solution?

The secret ingredient is ‘Music’, something that I have relied heavily on when working out in the last 4 years, for it puts me in a different state altogether.

The days when I am feeling extremely driven, music makes me push even harder and surpass my ‘usual’ standards (be it exceeding usual Km/hr on treadmill or number of sets when lifting weights).

More importantly, the days when I am not charged up or feeling low on energy, it gets me to focus on ‘whats to be done’ and terminates ‘lack of enthusiasm’ from my mind and body.

Listed below are the reasons why I consider ‘Music’ as a core ingredient when working out:

1) Puts me in the zone: A zone wherein I am feeling extremely positive and driven.

2) It diverts my mind: Especially when performing an activity which I think is beyond my capacity (lifting extremely heavy weights, running at a very high speed). There is no thought in my head playing ‘it cant be done.’

3) Alters my physiological state: Especially when listening to the tracks that I’m obsessed with, producing a ‘feel good’ factor within me.

These are the top 5 tracks I listen to a lot ‘at present’ when training:

1) I’m the one: Dj Khaled ft. Justin Bieber

2) Shape of you: Ed Sheeran

3) Swalla: Jason Derulo

4) Something like this: The Chainsmokers & Coldplay

5) Cold: Maroon 5 ft. Future

My advice would simply be ‘Don’t leave home without your music and headphones.’

Hope this ‘magical ingredient’ helps you all in your training sessions on a regular basis.
